Photographer Manny Hernandez has captured Miami's flash and moments of pizzazz in decades worth of candid images. His photographs chronicle the Magic City's celebrity-driven tipping point of the 1990s.
As a social photographer, he has documented the city's partying ways as well as its rise into cultural significance. Reflecting the city's multicultural embrace of all things celebrity, Hernandez's candids are sparkling points within the broad strokes of Miami's emergent pop-culture landscape.
Manny Hernandez has been a photogjournalist for 33+ years being with Ocean Drive Magazine since its inception, Weekend photographer at The Miami Herald for 20 years and is currently syndicated by Getty Images worldwide. His images have appeared in Rolling Stone, NY Times, Vogue and Newsweek.
Every week his much anticipated, SOCIALManny photo gallery appears in SocialMiami.com, chronicling Miami's celebrity and society scene.
Manny is producing museum and gallery shows, publishing books, editing of various online properties and founded All Access, a creative photo marketing company.
The Manny Hernandez Collection is currently involved in various licensing deals for upcoming Netflix and Amazon documentaries.
In 2018, he was recognized as one of the 12 Good Men by the Ronald McDonald House Charities, and also produced alongside Broadway producer Richard Jay-Alexander, “Charlie Cinnamon: Legendary Press Agent,” at the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU of South Florida.
He is also an author of two books: CANDIDS Miami 1 & 2.
